Couples Therapy – A Path to Connection, Growth, and Healing

Couples Therapy

Couple relationships are a dynamic and evolving process. From the initial passion to emotional stability, from moments of joy to inevitable challenges, partners go through different stages that can either strengthen their bond or create distance.
Frequent conflicts, misunderstandings, or difficulties in maintaining an authentic connection can sometimes make partners feel disconnected from each other. Other times, couples reach a crossroads where they need to make important decisions about their future together. Regardless of the situation, couples therapy provides a safe and supportive space, guided by scientifically validated methods, where both partners can be heard and supported.
In my sessions, I use the Bader-Pearson Developmental Model, a therapeutic approach that explores how relationships evolve through stages of development, much like an individual maturation process.

This model helps to:

  • Identify relationship blockages,
  • Develop better communication skills,
  • Foster individual growth while maintaining authenticity in the relationship,
  • Establish healthy boundaries between partners.
Couples therapy is not just about ``fixing`` a relationship but about creating a space for growth and transformation, where both partners can better understand their needs and the dynamics of their relationship.

How Can Couples Therapy Help?

🔹 Improving Communication and Mutual Understanding
In many relationships, conflicts arise from difficulties in expressing personal needs in a clear and calm way. Therapy provides effective techniques to help partners listen to each other and communicate without escalating conflicts.

🔹 Navigating Separation in a Healthy Way
For couples who decide to part ways, therapy can facilitate a conscious separation, allowing each partner to end the relationship with respect and emotional clarity. When children are involved, therapy supports healthy co-parenting and minimizes the impact of separation on them.

🔹 Rediscovering Emotional and Physical Intimacy
As relationships evolve, passion and emotional connection may diminish. Therapy helps identify the barriers to intimacy and provides strategies to rekindle closeness.

🔹 Encouraging Individual Growth and Autonomy within the Relationship
Healthy relationships are not about total fusion but about finding a balance between closeness and autonomy. Therapy supports each partner in maintaining their personal identity without fear of losing the connection with the other.

🔹 Managing Differences and Overcoming Challenges
No two people are the same, and differences in personality, values, or lifestyle can create tensions. Therapy helps partners navigate these differences with empathy, without resorting to conflict or avoidance.

🔹 Rebuilding Trust and Emotional Safety
Relationships can be affected by betrayals, dishonesty, or emotional distancing. Through therapy, partners can explore these wounds, learn how to manage them, and rebuild trust.

Therapeutic Approach and Session Format

🔹 My Approach

  • Therapy is based on the Bader-Pearson Developmental Model, which helps couples understand where they are in their relationship’s evolution and how to move forward.
  • I use interactive exercises and scientifically validated techniques to enhance communication and foster autonomy in the relationship.

Sessions are structured to allow both partners to explore their individual needs while learning how to create a healthier dynamic together

Session Duration and Frequency

session-and-duration
  • The first session lasts 90 minutes and is dedicated to a detailed assessment of the relationship. We will explore the couple’s dynamics, existing challenges, and each partner’s goals.
  • The next two sessions are individual—each partner will have a separate session to better understand their personal perspective and needs within the relationship.
  • After these three initial sessions, we reunite as a couple to begin the joint therapeutic process.
  • All subsequent sessions last 90 minutes and are scheduled either weekly or biweekly, depending on the couple’s needs.

If a more intensive approach is required, we can arrange longer or more frequent sessions.

Session Formats

✔ In-person sessions – at my office in Suresnes, providing a safe and comfortable environment.
